It would be easier to describe the genre of music "The Grand Who Am I" is not, rather than to tie it down to any single genre. Sheldon's world music type vocals are the only true common instrument, however there is a fondness for stand up bass, acoustic/marching drums, and strings (fiddle/violin orchestral) and very little usage of the guitar. There are hints of world music, folk, jazz, electronic, rag time, alternative and pop. Influences could include Voltaire, Peter Murphy, Dead Can Dance, Gogol Bordello, and Florence and the Machine.
